Filled with riveting speakers, great networking and an exciting travel opportunity, the Barron’s 2016 Top Independent Womens Advisors Summit, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, was anything but just another conference.
Held at The Ritz-Carlton, the three-day summit began on May 18th with a welcome dinner where Marcy was able to join up with old friends and network with other women advisors.
The 19th was jam-packed with breakout sessions ranging from customizing the client experience to examining capitalization, valuation and mergers and acquisitions.
The final day concluded with two more sessions and a few closing remarks. Marcy’s favorite part of the summit was getting to connect with other women advisors from around the country and listening to all of the speakers.
Before departing she was able to stop at the famous Café Du Monde for beignets and coffee. Café Du Monde has been in the New Orleans French Market since 1862. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, closing only on Christmas day, Café Du Monde is one of the top places to visit while in New Orleans. Beignets are square French-style doughnuts, lavishly covered with powdered sugar.
Returning to the office, Marcy was filled with excitement and was pleased to share with the rest of the team, pictures, book recommendations and creative ideas that she looks forward to exploring more.
