“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”

-Jawaharial Nehru, First prime minister of independent India

The Turkey Trot had a great turn out again this year. Thanks to all the people who came out on Thanksgiving morning to help feed the hungry in Baker County before sitting down to their own Thanksgiving dinners. More than 500 participants ran this race. Proceeds from the run benefit the North East Oregon Compassion Center and help support local Food Banks.

Our Community is generous bunch of people. Here are 3 tips to remember when donating to your charity First, ask the hard questions, how will your gifts be used?

Second, give where it counts. Legitimate fundraisers will not try to make you feel guilty, and will be happy to send you information that can help you make an informed decision rather than pressure you to give now.

Third ,volunteer where you donate. Volunteering where you donate can be a fun way to see your hard earned dollars at work & gives you the opportunity to use your talents & gifts to improve the lives of other in your community. It’s also a great way to meet other people whole share your enthusiasm for that particular cause.
