Wes Price's focus is on improving our overall client experience. He does this through researching and assisting Marcy with technical and fundamental analysis. He also spends time focusing on 401k plans, strategic planning, and financial forecasting.
Prior to joining Vision Wealth Management Wes was a CPA for KPMG, LLP in Anchorage, Alaska. He focused on auditing public and private clients in the banking, telecommunications, construction, and tourism industries. As an auditor, he was able to learn the ins-and-outs of many different businesses and industries. This required the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), which is what today’s public companies use to compile their financial statements. Wes had three public company clients that he helped through the Sarbanes-Oxley Act reporting process. Understanding the lifecycle of generating complete and accurate financial statements gives Wes valuable insight into today’s financial reporting processes and how they relate to a company’s operations.
In 2007, Wes started his own CPA firm in Alaska specializing in contract controllerships and outsourced CFO services. He served a variety of clients in the financial services, insurance, and fishing industries. He also gained experience helping clients restructure their 401k plans and educate their employees in financial literacy. He worked with their financial advisors, third-party administrators, and attorney's to draft standardized and custom 401k plans. Wes has also been a pilot since he was 17 years old, and decided to start a single pilot air-taxi service in Alaska in 2008. Tragically, Wes was injured in an airplane accident in 2010 and severely injured his neck. He is now a quadriplegic, but is blessed to still be able to use his brain to live life to the fullest. After the accident, Wes had a close friend teach him about the use of technical analysis in the stock market. Wes has never stopped wanting to learn more and now uses technical analysis in combination with fundamental analysis to analyze different investment ideas.
In his free time Wes enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons, traveling, and reading. He is involved with several different church ministries, and he still loves to spend as much time as he can in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and flying with family and friends.
